2008 Goose Hunting Season
Well, the 2008 goose hunting season has been pretty decent for me so far, could be better though. With a total of 54 geese as of November 3, it seems like a lot to some people but is well short of the expected 75 at this point. I have met some pretty good guys and have had some good hunts but also have been burned pretty bad a few times. Sunday morning was looking totally promising as the corn field was holding between 3 and 4 hundred honkers the day before. The hunt came and it went as planned at the beginning, the geese were roosting only about 150 yards away so we were a bit to close but were still hoping for a limit of 10 geese with 5 guys. The first flock came, circled a few times and were back on the roost without a shot. Shortly after 2 came in and we dropped both. Not much longer it was flock after flock and at one time there was about 6 flocks circling at 1 time, we should have been shooting as we had some flocks within 20 yards but we never had a flock in the kill hole and shortly later they were all back on the lake and that was all for entire day, what looked so promising wasnt so promising after all.

Just wanted you to know I looked at your blog.
How did you get interested in goose hunting.
I was 14 when my cousin took me out field hunting for geese and from then I have been hooked and I soon after bought a blind, and some decoys and am constantly in the blind when not at work or school or home.
